The project will combine AI and econometric methods to generate transparent, policy-relevant evidence for a more resilient and sustainable healthcare workforce.”
We are delighted to welcome Professor Tealdi from Heriot-Watt University for a secondment funded by the CHAI Secondment Call. In this role, she will be working to bridge AI and econometrics to tackle healthcare workforce sustainability.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Robert Meerten from Synoptix Ltd for a secondment funded by the CHAI Secondment Call. During this secondment, he will work on advancing the use of causal AI in osteoporosis and vertebral fracture care, exploring how imaging data, clinical guidance, and patient pathway information can be integrated to support more informed clinical decision making and improve patient outcomes.
“During my secondment with the CHAI Hub, I will explore how causal AI can move beyond image interpretation to support clinical decision making in osteoporosis and vertebral fracture care. Working in partnership with Synoptix Ltd, the project will investigate how imaging findings can be combined with clinical guidelines, patient and pathway information to develop more clinically meaningful AI decision-support tools. The project seeks to lay the foundations for the safe and effective implementation of causal AI to help address the significant treatment gap that exists within osteoporosis care in the NHS.”
