The CHAI Hub

At the CHAI (Causality in Healthcare AI) Hub, our mission is to conduct ground breaking research, drive innovation, and build a community for co-creation.

CHAI aims to develop fully explainable causal AI platforms to address healthcare challenges across prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

We believe that to advance AI, models need to incorporate both theory and observation. This will make models more transportable, explainable, fair, and more directly relevant for decision support.

The hub co-develops research challenges with clinical experts, policy makers, and patients to address complex and heterogenous data structures, nuanced real-world problems, and a rapid pathway to societal and economic impact.

Innovation

Industry need drives our innovation. We are creating opportunities to increase casual AI adoption, transparency, upskilling, and policy development for real-world impact in the healthcare industry.

Industry partners can access our world-leading interdisciplinary expertise to accelerate innovation and de-risk their R&D pipelines.

We run industry-supported funding calls, to support entrepreneurial projects that accelerate real-world impact.

Community

Our network is at the heart of the Hub. Community engagement and co-creation underpins all of our activities.

Our ecosystem consists of academic experts and healthcare industry partners. Our domain-leading academics, PDRAs (postdoctoral research associates), and PhD students come from multiple Russel Group universities and our industry partners span across commercial frontiers, policy creators, and research supporters.

This community co-ideates, co-designs, co-implements, and co-evaluates creations, embedding ethical, trusted and responsible innovation.

β€œIn the realm of healthcare innovation, the beauty lies in collaboration.
The CHAI Hub, with its global network, stands at the forefront of co-creating transformative AI solutions that shape the future of patient care.”
